Classification by water source and environment
Natural swimming pool: built using natural waters such as rivers, lakes, seas, and reservoirs, divided into fixed and floating types. Fixed types are mostly built in lakes, rivers, reservoirs or beaches where the water level does not change much, with wooden piles or reinforced concrete piles driven into the bottom, and then surrounded by wooden boards or cement boards; floating types use wooden piles and floats to enclose the site in natural waters, with floating platforms around.
Artificial swimming pool: completely built and maintained by humans. The water source usually comes from the city’s water supply system or groundwater. The water quality is kept clean through circulating filtration, disinfection and other water treatment equipment. Different shapes, sizes and functions can be designed according to needs.
